28-32 cm. Chestnut head to upperpart. Fine black and white scale on
mantle and body-side, black spot on brown covert. Male : has 1 or 2
spurs. Female : no spurs or one short one.

Now very much reduced, recorded from Kanchanaburi (Srinagarindra Dam
NP); Phetchaburi (Kaeng Krachan NP); Surat Thani (Khlong Sang WS,
Khao Sok NP); Krabi (Khao Pra-Bang Khram WS, Khlong Phra Ya WS,
Khao Phanom Bencha NP); Satun (Thale Ban NP) and Narathiwat/Yala
(Hala-Bala WS).
