- Snout shark-like pointed, mouth sub-inferior; occipital process triangular.
2 narrow and elongate patches of palatine teeth; large dorsal spine about
same length as head, roughly granulated in front. Dull or dark grey dorsum,
silvery flanks and ventral; fin pale, sometimes yellow. Attains 80 cm.

- Carnivorous, fishes and shellfishes. Lower reaches and estuaries.
Disappearing after lower reach dam operated in the Bang Pakong River.
Habitat lost and overfishing.

- Chao Phraya, Bangpakong to Mekong basins.
