- 145-150 cm.Larger than preceding specie, deeper bill, pinkish head and
neck, show white neck-ruff and drooping neck-pouch, dark grey above
with still paler, greyer greater coverts and tertials. In flight, whitish
underwing covert, Dark flight featheres with pale grey band along the
upperwing coverts.

- Freshwater marshes, pool in or near open forest sometime paddyfields.
