- Carnivorous, zooplankton. Coastal to estuaries. Common foodfish in the
markets of Borneo. Habitat lost and overfishing.

- Body long and tapering, abdomen rounded anterior to pelvic fins, with
complete series of 28 to 30 keeled scutes from isthmus to anus; caudal
fin deeply fork. One spot behind operculum and none on flank. Attains
50 cm.

- Central Indo-Pacific.
